Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation created a 3D Multi-Media (3DMM) Interface to enhance the functionality of Illinois' statewide websites and provide interactive video and audio supported legal information to users. This interactive multi-media resource enables users to select a specific topic within a substantive legal area and obtain comprehensive legal information on that topic by following a step-by-step guided explanation. Once fully developed, this template will be shared with other programs and available as an extension for statewide websites developed in Coldfusion. Consequently, statewide websites that integrate this template into their system will be able to deliver multi-media content without the use of programmers. Content Managers who create the substantive content for the modules will have the administrative tools to also incorporate audio and video into the multi-media modules. 3DMM content modules will initially be available in public benefits law, housing law, and family law. Users will be able to access these materials, including the audio and video components, over a low-bandwidth connection. Plans exist to add document assembly capabilities on Illinois' statewide website and to integrate document assembly with 3DMM content modules.
