Dynamic Client Information Services

Legal Aid Society of Hawaii - 020109

Abstract Number: 020109

December 2002

Legal Aid Society of Hawaii created a Dynamic Client Information Service to provide qualified clients with the opportunity to receive custom online legal information tailored to meet their needs. After signing up through intake, clients can choose partner programs that provide services they need. From these indicated needs, a dynamic custom web page is built to provide information and services to the client. The resources provided may include interactive Pro Se support, streaming video instructions, court form tutorials, workforce development training materials, and substance abuse help. This page will be accessible from any web-enabled computer and will allow LASH staff to interact and communicate with clients in a new manner. Client training and assistance will be available at all partner locations, including state libraries.

Free Internet access in libraries, public schools, and various other community organizations allow email to be an important element of this project. This project offers clients free email services enabling LASH to notify potential client participants of training, workshops, and other partner resources relevant to their legal situations. LASH's intake process will be modified to request email addresses and issue new ones for those who want to register. The web-based email accounts will be accessible from any computer connected to the Internet, and training and support will be available at all partner organizations.
