Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) has updated the Financial Management Procedures Manual for its Equal Justice Volunteer Program (private attorney involvement),Among other things, the manual addresses payments to attorneys who handle reduced fee cases, payment requests for out-of-pocket expenses, and general purchasing.LANWT's guidelines require attorneys to submit billing statements on their letterhead and to handle referred cases within approved case hours.In compliance with the LSC Regulations Part 1614.3 (e), Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas has a separate accounting system in place for expenditure of PAI funds.
