Low-income residents of North Carolina will benefit from a new website launched by LSC-funded Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC), the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA), and the NCBA Foundation. The website (www.probono.net/NC) allows attorneys to review a list of cases that need pro bono representation, and to explore training opportunities and other projects. The website is part of a national network, initially funded with grants from LSC, which encourages attorneys to offer pro bono assistance. The website provides the opportunity to increase the numbers of volunteer attorneys while helping more clients resolve issues pertaining to basic needs. The program also hopes to create a wider dialogue about poverty law issues.
