2007 Private Attorney Involvement Plan

Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York - 070055

Abstract Number: 070055

June 2007

Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY) has developed a Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) Plan to increase program resources available to their client community and enhance the relationship between LASNNY and the private bar. LASNNY is involved with private attorneys in a number of ways; their leading project is the PAI Referral Program, a system of providing pro bono referrals to a panel of pro bono volunteers.  LASNNY's PAI plan describes the different elements of the PAI Referral Program from delivery to follow-up and closure.

Other PAI programs of LASNNY are also described in their 2007 PAI Plan.  For instance, the Pro Bono Divorce Project (PBDP) consists of a variety of mandatory and voluntary pro bono programs to provide free matrimonial representation to clients.  Additionally, the PAI Plan describes Pro Se Divorce Clinics, the Ask-A-Lawyer Clinic and LASNNY's work with Pro Bono Society of Albany Law School.

LASNNY's PAI plan includes a budget and a section on the requirements of LSC Regulation 1614.
