Child Custody Pro Bono Project Attorney Training Manual

Montana Legal Services Association  - 070028

Abstract Number: 070028

October 2007

The Child Custody Pro Bono Project Attorney Training Manual was developed by Montana Legal Services Association (MLSA) with help from the Montana Judiciary and specialists in children's mental health under a grant from the American Bar Association's 2005 Child Custody and Adoption Pro Bono Project and A.W.A.R.E., a Montana children's mental health provider.  The training manual and accompanying DVD were developed to assist pro bono attorneys in representing children in custody cases.  The manual educates pro bono attorneys about children's unique emotional and social needs during family transitions.  Written by Dana Toole, a Mediation Program Developer at MLSA, the manual consists of two parts-- the first is titled "Representing Children:  What Attorneys Need to Know," and the second is "Child Clients:  How to Meet Specific Needs of a Child Client."
