AARP Legal Counsel for the Elderly (LCE) was awarded a grant by the D.C. Bar Foundation to reach out to and serve the homebound elderly and long term care residents by making "house calls". Generally, the services provided are in the protective services arena including wills, powers of attorney and consumer protection investigations and related advocacy. LCE hired a home visit attorney who has conducted extensive outreach in the faith-based, legal services and social services communities and handled many cases, with a growing backlog of clients, prospects and caregivers who have responded favorably to LCE's enhanced service offering.
