The Iowa Legal Aid Board of Directors created a Board Position Profile for the members of its board. The Board Position Profile gives a description of the board and lists a set of guidelines for the board members. The Board Position Profile defines the scope for an Iowa Legal Aid Board member as someone who is a recognized leader in the community or organization and strongly supportive of the organization's mission. It lists the set of experiences, skills and qualifications that are desired in a board member. The Board Position Profile also explains the training process for board members listing the different board member training areas. Furthermore, the Board Position Profile includes guidance on areas such as, key duties and responsibilities, expectations, confidentiality, relationship with staff and guidelines on how to avoid conflicts.
