Iowa Legal Aid developed a press packet to publicize the merger of Iowa's two federally funded legal aid programs (the Legal Aid Society of Polk County and the Legal Services Corporation of Iowa) into Iowa Legal Aid on January 1, 2003. This press packet sought to increase public awareness of the services provided by Iowa Legal Aid, the existence of the recently merged program, and the significant budgetary issues faced by the new program. This press packet was developed as part of a larger marketing and communications project undertaken by Iowa Legal Aid to assess their current communication strategies and to evaluate the effectiveness of their marketing and communication techniques. This press packet was developed with the assistance of Valerie Denney Communications and distributed as part of a press conference held announcing the formation of Iowa Legal Aid.
