Community Legal Aid Services (CLAS) implemented a loan repayment assistance program (LRAP) to help attorneys repay educational loans from law school. Participating attorneys receive direct payments from CLAS for 20% of the attorneys' loan obligation up to $100 per month. Full-time and Part-time staff are eligible for these benefits; however, part-time staff receive a pro-rated amount. Benefits are recorded on employees' W-2 forms and are taxable as income.
