Legal Aid Services of Oregon (LASO) has a loan repayment assistance program (LRAP) to help attorneys repay outstanding law school education loans. As part of LASO's collective bargaining agreement and management personnel policies, participating full-time attorneys may receive up to $300 per month in assistance. Part-time employees receive a pro rated amount unless they work at least 75% time in which case they would receive full benefits. Loan assistance appears on employees' paychecks and is taxable as income. Participating attorneys complete an application and provide LASO with documentation of their loan payment.
