Columbia Legal Services (CLS) offers a loan repayment assistance program (LRAP) to full-time staff attorneys to help alleviate educational loans that accrued while attending law school. Participating attorneys receive $500 per quarter for loan repayment after receipt of appropriate documentation regarding their outstanding law school loan obligations. Staff attorneys remain eligible to receive assistance until they reach the 10-year experience level on the CLS salary scale. LRAP assistance is considered income for tax purposes.
