Iowa Legal Aid (ILA) created a detailed Intake Manual that is used to assist case handlers throughout the intake process. This Manual provides thoughtful guidance as one initiates the client screening process. In addition to providing definitions and general guidance about intake procedures, the Manual addresses:

• Chat room Etiquette Policy;
• Intake Name Policy;
• Intake LEP Policy;
• Intake Conflicts Policy;
• Case Management Policy; and
• Case Closing Codes.

For the convenience of attorneys the Intake Manual also includes an Attorney Intake Guide and Volunteer Attorney Cheat Sheet and a Closing Check List.
