Community Legal Services adopted a policy to augment employees' salaries who possess language and communication skills that further enable CLS to serve Spanish speaking clients and clients who communitcate with American Sign Language (ASL). CLS' policy provides $1000 in additional annual compensation to employees who speak Spanish or communicate in ASL and use this skill to serve CLS clients. To receive this compensation, employees are required to take a language test administered by a CLS employee who currently is proficient in Spanish or ASL. In addition, CLS will also pay for classes for employees who would like to learn Spanish. Access the full policy by clicking on the link below.
