Legal Services of North Texas (LSNT) formed a Diversity Council in July 2001 to respond to the needs of its diverse client and volunteer communities, staff, and board of directors. The Council promotes better understanding and cooperation among all those who make up the LSNT service area. The mission statement is:

"The Legal Services of North Texas Diversity embraces and values our multicultural workplace and client community through leadership and dialogue."

A task of the Diversity Council was to develop a survey to determine LSNT's success at making diversity work for staff, clients and volunteers. The goal was to create a better workplace atmosphere for all. As a result of the survey, the Council learned where training is needed and set goals to improve LSNT.

In addition to the above, the Council held a Multicultural Luncheon and has begun a Brown Bag Luncheon series. The luncheons provide a forum for speakers to present on various topics related to diversity.
