LegalMeetings is a virtual conference center that facilitates online training and communication between members of the legal aid community. Lone Star Legal Aid created LegalMeetings to enhance legal aid program's ability to work with organizations or offices that are separated by substantial geographical areas. LegalMeetings offers the following features:
Presentations and document sharing - Participants can give presentations and share documents online.
Application Sharing - Software applications can be shared online.
Desktop Sharing and Control - Users can, with permission, control a participant's PC system to provide live assistance and solve problems immediately.
Instant Polling - Hosts can conduct online polls.
White Boarding and Chatting - Allows to users to participate in real-time chat and whiteboard collaboration.
Web Tours - Browse the Internet while meeting participants look on.
Hosting LegalMeetings is free for LSC grantees although select charges may apply for large meetings (over 12 people). LegalMeetings requires users to have a computer, a 56 Internet connection, web browser, and a telephone which allows users to hear the audio portion of the online conference.
