Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (LAF) has developed a Disaster Recovery Plan.  LAF defines a disaster as any event that substantially impedes one or more LAF offices or projects from delivering services to clients for more than twenty four hours.  The plan includes guidance on immediate responses to various types of disasters, organizational continuity, legal outreach to victims of disasters, and maintaining services to current and potential clients.  The plan also includes a sample phone tree and guidelines for media contact, re-entering damaged facilities, and recovery timelines.
